So far, these last few years have been the most challenging of my life, as I’ve battled doubt, fear, insecurity, condemnation, guilt, shame, demonic lies of all kinds, and intense physical limitation, pain and restriction with regards to my voice and my song.

Since my father passed away some six years ago, I began to spiral downward, fearing the most unusual things, doubting my very own callings, crying out to God for wisdom and understanding on subjects I thought I already knew enough about, and encountering attacks from every corner, almost daily.

This song is about waking up with spiritual and physical eyes and ears opened wide to seeing and hearing God in the smallest and largest of ways, in desperation to see and hear Him. Life’s obstacles have a way of recalibrating or derailing us, and for the last few years I’ve wavered between both.

The more I’ve cried out to God, soaking my Bible with my tears, stomping about my house in worship and fury, the more battle I’ve encountered. The will to fight started off strong, then tapered off to complete exhaustion, but still continues to grow and climb upward as the words of God grow inside my spirit, soul, and body.

We hear God’s voice through His written word, and we find our voice through His written word. We cannot look to the world or to common Christian circles to confirm His Word, but only to His presence, that secret hideaway we have devoted to only Him.

This song is about realizing the glory of what Jesus purchased for us on the Cross, and for believing in what we cannot see, hear, smell, taste, touch, or emote. This song evokes a fire in me to burn with zeal for the Spirit, and to renounce the flesh and all its deceitful desires. This song declares what I cannot see to be true, because the Word of God says it is so, because the God of Heaven cannot lie, nor can He change.

This song is about my longing to be transformed into the image of Christ, that I may sing, dance, explore, and overcome the works of the devil with Him, that my life could be set on fire, that it could be consumed by the rivers of living water, overflowing with His glory. He desires our minds halt their wavering, that we would be totally and completely convinced of His great LOVE for us, spirit, soul, and body.

This song tells of my desire to become a resting place for the Holy Spirit, that I would be totally and completely convinced of God’s great LOVE, but also His great desire to live and dwell and rest and move through my life. I desire to be so totally and completely devoted to pursuing His righteousness, His kingdom, His holiness, and the things I cannot perceive through my senses and my flesh, that the world would be drawn to Him, drawn to the warmth of His fire, to the beautiful sounds of His rivers of living water flowing!
